See publication on Prioritizing development policy research in Sudan: An innovative approach to guide IFPRI’s Sudan Strategy Support Program
On Wednesday, February 9th, 2022, in Khartoum, IFPRI and USAID hosted a Launch and Co-creation Workshop introducing the new Sudan SSP. The objectives of the workshop were to:
- Engage in a participatory process of identifying knowledge gaps and research priorities that would co-create a research agenda that will guide Sudan SSP’s research and capacity building activities.
- Identify partners for the Sudan SSP’s Advisory Committee, which will work closely with IFPRI to achieve project goals.
- Launch the findings from the new IFPRI-led study: Wheat & Its Role for Food Security in Sudan.
Funded by the United States Agency for International Development, and implemented by IFPRI, the Sudan Strategy Support Program (Sudan SSP) brings together a team of international and local experts to conduct research, capacity building activities and technical support on agricultural production, markets and trade, livelihoods and nutrition, development strategy and investment planning, and resilience to climate change. It will convene a broad array of stakeholders to produce collaborative, evidence-based recommendations and build analytical capacity of local partners with the ultimate objective to raise incomes of the rural poor and improve food and nutrition security in Sudan.
